Initial Log-Adrian

As per the instructions from Mike and Cori I’m trying out the “family” blog. This capability is a wonderful addition to the various family communication channels. I look forward to its use by all and its growing ability to encompass our ever increasing leaps in technology.

I send out a warning to all who dare to use this blog facility that Vicki has had me busily scanning in New Yorker cartoons and printing them out as full page pictures on photo paper. I only hope that the New Yorker does not decide to enforce its copyrights and force us to send them great quantities of “filthy lucre” to line their financial nests. So, if by chance, you receive a framed New Yorker cartoon, please don’t reveal its source nor too loudly proclaim that you have any idea how it came into your possession (perhaps you found it at a garage sale).

Unfortunately, at this time, I have no recipes to share with everyone but I’m sure as I continue my exploration of the kitchen, its many facilities and experiment with exotic foodstuffs I will someday grace these pages with a wonderful, one of a kind, recipe (provided I live long enough).

I have contracted with AT&T to try their VOIP services known as CallVantage. So during the next few days I will be experimenting with this new capability that promises unlimited local and long distance phone calls within the U.S. for $29.99 per month and very reasonable rates for overseas calls such as $0.15 per minute to Haiti.
If all goes acccording to plan, we will be transferring our normal phone number, 770-394-8771, to this service effective 1/12/2005 and no one will notice the difference, except my pocketbook. Between tomorrow (1/7/2005) and 1/12 I will be trying out the service to ensure it works correctly–this experimentation should not affect our normal phone service. If there are a few problems we fortunately have backup capability with my cell phone and our other phone line that we currently use only for faxing purposes so we will not be out of touch with the world under any circumstances.

Enough for now. I look forward to seeing other postings besides my own.
